Online Diploma Course on Theology of Consecrated Life
SANYASA: VISION AND MISSION
Sanyasa: Institute of Consecrated Life (SICL) is a unique and the only one institute in the Indian Church that offers specialization in the theology and formation of Consecrated Life. It is a major initiative of the Claretian missionaries of India to re-vision consecrated life in the new millennium and to help consecrated persons to understand clearly their identity, mission and relevance. Among all the countries in the world, India has the largest number of vocations to consecrated life. In this context, we, the Claretians felt called to provide a well-established theological and formational resource center for study and research in the Theology of Consecrated life.
SICL answers to the felt need of Superiors, formators and formandi in India and other countries of Asia. It responds to the need to consolidate the formation of our candidates to consecrated life in the biblical, theological and human foundations, clarifying its specific identity and mission in the context of other vocations and forms of Christian life in the Church. Sanyasa also helps the students to study consecrated life in dialogue of life with the cultures, religious traditions and the poor with the goal of accompaniment, witness and service. It tries to bring to the praxis the theological reflection and discernment of the Magisterium of the Church in general, FABC (Federation of Asian Bishop Conference), CBCI, CRI and of the local churches of India.
Sanyasa aims at a solid missionary spirituality for the consecrated men and women who pass through this Institute leading to a deeper experience of God and giving expression to this experience by a preferential commitment to the needs of the poor, responding to the challenges of this society and the Church with witness, proclamation of the Gospel and dedicated service to our brothers and sisters.
Sanyasa has been rendering ongoing formation programme for the consecrated persons of India since 2002. At present, Sanyasa is running two Post Graduate programs (Biennial) of M.Th/M.A. and one Annual Diploma Program. It also offers intensive one month of summer course in April-May on the theology of Consecrated Life.
